One Voice. Hear the Difference. Feel the Music.
Through disciplined preparation and thoughtful development of their repertoire, The Harrisburg Singers strive to enrich their listeners with experiences they will long remember and look forward to enjoying again.
Since 1984, The Harrisburg Singers have become one of Central Pennsylvania's finest choral ensembles combining the vocal talents of 40 members. The Harrisburg Singers are the only vocal ensemble in Central Pennsylvania to have:
- Performed twice at The United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
- Commissioned and premiered a new piece of music, "King of Glory, King of Peace," by the noted composer/arranger Mack Wilberg — which was subsequently performed by the world-renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir, under Dr. Wilberg's direction.
What People are Saying
"Susan Beckley is the epitome of what every singer looks for in a choral conductor. She understands what it means to be an interpreter of the composer's soul. As an architect of color, emotion, and feeling, she allows music to come alive and touch the hearts of singers and listeners alike. Most importantly, Susan is unafraid to open herself to the total experience of music-making, creating sounds that resonate deep in one's being."—William Payn, Professor and Director of Choral Studies, Bucknell University, Music Director/Conductor for the Susquehanna Valley Chorale and Orchestra
"Exceptional Woman! Extraordinary Musician! Susan Solomon Beckley, through her conducting, teaching, performing and friendship, has inspired young people and adults of all ages. Her laugh is infectious, her spirit is contagious and her musicianship is world class.
